What kind of supplements are out there to give your dog for allergies? I haven’t found a supplement that I can give my dog that will help with the itching and cough that he has. I have gone through his dog food and changed that completely to the kind with the least amount of ingredients and that hasn’t helped either. I’ll try new bedding next and a bath more often maybe that will help.

This is great information for dog owners but do you have anything like this for cat owners? I think my cat might have allergies and I was wondering if this information is good for them as well? If you have any information for cats I would really appreciate seeing it because I think he has to be miserable. If you don’t maybe you could tell me where I could find some?

My dog scratches all the time and when he does he holds his breath then when he is done scratching he starts coughing like he has asthma or something, is that an allergy? He hasn’t lost his appetite or anything like that so I was under the impression that it wasn’t that serious but he’s done it so long now that it is really getting on my nerves. What can I do to help him?

Do you think cough syrup or Mucinex would hurt a dog? I have a dog that sounds like he has a cold like people get but he doesn’t have a runny nose or anything he just coughs a lot. Can you give your animals people medicine if you give them the dosage for a child? My vet told me to give him baby aspirin so I was wondering about other stuff as well.

I haven’t found a supplement that I can give my dog that will help with the itching and cough that he has but I have noticed that if I make his dog food so to speak he tends to not itch quiet as much. I started giving him a mixture of Hamburger, rice and scrambled eggs and it really seems to be working so far, not to mention he really likes its.

How do you determine if a dog has an allergy or not? I know that people have to go through a series of tests before they can determine what they are allergic to but there isn’t an allergy doctor for dogs that is willing to put in the time it would take to do these test is there? Is this advice good for cats as well or should you treat them differently all together?

If a dog is coughing like they have something in their throat is that an allergy? He has done this off and on for about a year now. He doesn’t have any loss of appetite or anything and he still gets around just fine given his age but the cough makes me think he is miserable. If you could answer my question it would be much appreciated if you would just reply to my comment.

Can you give your animals people medicine if you give them the dosage for a child? I have been giving my dog Benadryl and baby aspirin for quite some time and I don’t want to continue if it is going to harm him in anyway. Do you think cough syrup or Mucinex would hurt them? I feel so sorry for the dog but the vet didn’t give me any advice either.

It is so tough to set and watch my dog be so miserable, they can’t tell you what is bothering them and how they feel, plus since they are dogs they are always trying to be happy and carefree even when they don’t feel good so I think they are the hardest to read when you are trying to take care of them. Thank you so much for your advice, I have a little dog that has a lot of these symptoms and he can’t tell me what is wrong so I am going to follow your advice and see if I can determine what he is allergic to if anything. I hate not being able to determine what it is and neither can the vet but he is miserable. Great advice, thank you.
