Cooking For Dogs With Allergies.

Cooking for dogs with allergies is easier than you may think.

If you have a dog with allergies or certain sensitivities and you enjoy cooking, then you will probably really enjoy cooking for dogs with allergies.

Believe it or not, there are plenty of really great recipes that you can whip up for your dog right from home.

Before you go off half cocked with your fantastic plan of cooking for dogs with allergies, you will need to make some plans as to what foods your dog may be sensitive to.

Most store bought kibble has plenty of additives that can make your dog sick or that your dog can become sensitive to.

It is entirely possible that some of the same ingredients that are found in store bought kibble can also be used by your in your own home dog food cooking, so this is why you will need to know which of them may pose a problem.

Generally speaking, most store bought dog foods contain a great deal of filler such as corn meal or wheat by products.

Most of these types of fillers can cause skin irritations in dogs because a dog is a natural carnivore, and is not meant to eat grains.

One particularly acceptable ingredient that you can use when cooking for dogs with allergies as your own “filler” is rice.

Of course, you will want to choose brown or whole grain rice as opposed to the processed or white kind.

The more processed a food is, the less nutritional value it actually contains and the less it can be referred to as actual “food”,  You can also use oatmeal,  just remember, though, that your dog needs a decent amount of protein, and it should be lean protein.

Chicken and fish are great choices as are boiled eggs.

Cook vegetables such as cauliflower, carrots and beans can be cooked and added into the mix.  Purchase or invest in a small good grinder if you do not currently own one.

What you need to do is add all of the ingredients together, cooked and pass them through the grinder.  Add a dash of garlic powder as a natural flea repellant and recommended dog daily vitamins.

Cooking for dogs with allergies can be challenging at first, but once you have made a few batches, it will become second nature.

You don’t have to be as fancy and accurate as you do when you make a meal for your family, that is for certain.  You can make larger batches and freeze them into portions for your dog’s meals which can be removed from the freezer to thaw a day or so ahead of time.

Your dog will certainly appreciate the fact that you are not making him eat that same crappy kibble that he has been consuming for too many years.  Really when you think about it, you can purchase the ingredients that you need in cooking for dogs with allergies when you do your own grocery shopping.

You can obtain fairly decent and cheap cuts of meat that you can add to the food as you cook.

Remember  you are passing it all through a grinder so the meat will not be chewy.
